This is my very first substance painter texture project. I took a model of a 50 caliber machine gun I had modeled in Maya about 10 years ago. I imported it into Substance Painter and recreated the textures there. I was surprised at how fast it was once in Substance Painter I just utilized the Ambient Occlusion map, Cavity Maps and the Normal Maps. I did two versions one with a scratched black painted metal look and the second version is a rough aged bare-metal look. Both of these were Smart Materials. Meaning it took me very little time to get these results. I laid out all my UVs on one single UV tile, so to keep the resolution High I baked every map out at 4K because I was worried about the Texel density and resolution. I think the end result turned out pretty good. I am looking forward to re-doing the textures on a bunch of my other models.
